Location: University City, Philadelphia, PA
Wharton’s Learning Lab develops business simulations and games for use in the curriculum. We’re looking for a new developer to join the team in Philadelphia (University City).
See the link below for all the official information. We work closely with Wharton Professors to develop simulations for use in their classes. While I’ve been a member of the team, I’ve got to work on a wide variety of projects involving various tech. I’ve worked on an R application, Rails project, iOS app, and, right now, we’re using Backbone to develop a new app.
The team is also responsible for maintaining older web applications. The silver lining is that we are open to rewriting certain applications and discontinuing others.
One of the biggest benefits is that there is almost full tuition reimbursement and flexible work hours. We also have competitive health plans, and budget for equipment, training, and conferences.
As for the desired skills, the typical stuff: problem solving, communication skills, presentation skills, poise, attention to detail are especially important because we do live simulation runs for Wharton students.
We’re looking for people with web development experience in any language, at any level. For the Senior Developer position, you should be an expert in Javascript and CSS, and at least 1 web programming language. What is most important is someone who truly cares about their craft.
Here’s a link to some information, which includes information about how to apply: http://beacon.wharton.upenn.edu/learning/jr-sr-developer/
If you know anyone who might be interested, please forward this along.
Thanks,
Jamie
