Freelance opportunity for Wordpress/PHP/mySQL developer

Posted on July 30th, 2010 at 3:08pm

Location: Remote

My law firm is looking to hire a Wordpress developer with PHP and mySQL experience to complete our firm’s new website. My employer recently hired a developer to create our new site and the result (which you can see at http://www.hahnvoight.com) have been a disaster.

Our previous developer used tables instead of CSS. The header is too wide for a lot of monitors. Using the search function to find one of our firm’s attorneys is almost certain to result in failure. The complete list of problems is too long to list here.

We need to hire a new developer to fix what our previous developer started.

Please provide samples of previous work and at least one professional reference. We can discuss the project by phone or in person so you can get a complete sense of the scope of the project and then provide us with a quote.

Freelance Quality Review & Content Editing Specialist Available

Posted on July 11th, 2010 at 11:20pm

Location: Bucks County, PA

Do you need the services of a freelance quality review and content editing specialist? Yes, of course you do. Good thing I’m available! :)

My background in a nutshell: I have over 15 years of professional experience in interactive development (as a developer, lead developer, project manager/team leader, and QA consultant), as well as both print and online publication experience (including overall management, content editing, layout tasks, and proofreading).

When asked about my quality review and content editing services…

…the senior account manager at NXLevel Solutions said, “In a field where a top-notch proofing and quality assurance resource is essential for customer satisfaction and scope management, Bonnie’s skills are second to none. She brings a commitment to quality and thoroughness to her work that is difficult to find in the industry and critical to the overall success of a project. If you want to be sure your storyboard or script is instructionally sound, clearly written, and consistent, make sure Bonnie is part of your team. I highly recommend her.”

…the QA coordinator at SAI Global said, “Our online training company has counted on Bonnie numerous times to turn around complex projects on tight deadlines. She has proven herself to be reliable every time. Bonnie is a conscientious, detail-oriented professional who never cuts corners — and she’s always upbeat and a pleasure to work with no matter how stressful the work gets. I highly recommend her!”

…the senior instructional designer at SoftAssist said, “From our first initiative with Bonnie she has proven to be an asset for our business and, especially, for our clients. Bonnie has met or exceeded expectations for each and every assignment and, often, offers more thorough feedback than we could have anticipated. We highly recommend her and look forward to working with her in the future!”

You can see details about my current services and professional experience on my website and in my LinkedIn profile (direct links below). I’d love the opportunity to demonstrate how my skills would help your company ensure you’re delivering high-quality products.

I look forward to hearing from you — thanks for the consideration,
Bonnie

Front End Web Developer

Posted on May 21st, 2010 at 1:45pm

Location: Center City

DLC Solutions is a web development firm located in Center City specializing in Healthcare e-learning and marketing websites. We are currently seeking a front-end web developer contractor to help with a number of upcoming projects. This position will be at least 20 hours a week, possibly full time.

Applicants should have 1-2 years of experience,although recent grads with the right background are welcomed. Drupal experience would be a huge plus.

Our office is in a great neighborhood. Surrounded by bars, restaurants, close to public transport, we’re squeezed between another agency and the finest sushi in center city. It’s a fun place to be.

We’ve been in business for almost 10 years. Our projects average in the 3-6 month range, with many long-term clients, so you’ll have plenty of time to get things right. We’re not interested in shortcuts or hack jobs to get a project out the door.

You must have direct, hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Photoshop. Knowledge of jQuery or other JavaScript libraries is required. We are eyeball deep in cross-browser stuff so you’ve gotta know IE6. As much as we hate it, our corporate clients won’t pay us unless it works in IE6.

Your responsibilities include implementing front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. If you have design skills, that would be awesome. Drupal configuration skills would be great as well.

We work in an agile development environment – you’ll be a full member of the team expected to participate at every level — planning, development, testing, and more. Come to a meeting late and we’ll make you draw doodles on the task board.

A strong understanding of written and spoken English language is required for this position.

The following are a plus:
* knowledge of web page optimization techniques
* understanding of graphic design principles
* experience with Drupal
* any knowledge of PHP
* experience with version control systems
* experience working in a linux environment

To apply for this position, email your resume and salary requirements to jobs@dlc-solutions.com. Applications without salary requirements will not be reviewed. No phone calls please. No recruiters at this time please.

You must be located in the Philadelphia, Pa. metro area.
