Web Designer – Part Time
Join a Center City in-house design department searching for a creative web designer. The ideal candidate should have an impeccable sense of design and thorough knowledge of web standards and best practices. You will work with an enthusiastic, knowledgeable design team to grow our organization’s web presence and improve existing sites. Responsibilities include:
- Working with Art Director and IT Director to strengthen web presence of the organization
- Designing and implementing new web pages/sites
- Updating existing pages/sites
- Training non-expert users in basic content management
- Creation of HTML-based emails and newsletters
- Working with design staff to carry print campaigns over to web components
- Maintaining the graphic standards of the Chamber
- Working 30-35 hours per week on site
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience creating web graphics, user interfaces, and websites
- Proficiency in hand-coding XHTML/HTML, CSS
- Strong user interface design skills and understanding of web typography
- Proficiency in Adobe CS4 in a Macintosh environment
- Understanding of current industry web standards and best practices
- Understanding of web content management systems
- Flexibility in adapting to shifting projects and strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with or interest in jQuery and Wordpress a plus
