Web Applications Developer (AJAX)

DESCRIPTION: The Web Applications Developer will assist in the technical web development for several e-commerce projects. The Developer should have a strong web background (AJAX, xHTML, JavaScript) with experience in commercial web sites, and working with other teams and people within the scope of the project (e.g. QA, deployment, other development teams, and project management).

REQUIREMENTS: Experience with HTML, xHTML, AJAX, CSS, and JavaScript development, as well as Search Engine Optimization and Website Performance Tuning. Recent experience with commercial websites and/or JSP is a plus. Candidates should have some experience managing deployment projects, and have the ability to work flexible hours/shifts during a deployment phase. Strong communication skills are mandatory.

POSITION DUTIES: This webmaster will bring creativity and innovation to the design and functionality of Maryland Department of Planning website(s) by taking “ownership” of the Department’s website. Successful candidate will develop the Department’s site for PlanMaryland, the State Growth Plan, with an array of interactive tools for social networking, public outreach, and education (i.e. public forums, Web surveys, citizen photo galleries, interactive timelines, and scenario evaluations). To include the development, editing, post video and video graphics for online presentations. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: One year of experience in web page design, development, and programming.

Technical and Graphics Assistant

NJ manufacturing company is looking for a strong technical and graphics assistant. This person will assist the president of the company:

Develop and maintain company marketing collateral and publicity material;

Maintain technical documents and website using Adobe products; and

Develop and maintain company systems, procedures and IT infrastructure.

The right candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in a technical field, i.e. engineering, architecture, IT, etc. and have a strong grasp of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. A bachelor’s degree is required and previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution company would be helpful.

Graphic Designer (User Interface)

Ranter is seeking a Graphic Designer (User Interface) to join the team. Ranter will eventually have multiple interfaces – ranter.com, Facebook app, numerous smartphone apps, text and email integration. This person will be an integral part of shaping the look and feel of all of these. Besides creating the graphics, html, CSS - we would look to this person to eventually “own” the complete user experience.

With Ranter you will be able to create on-the-fly chat rooms around a specific topic (i.e. Who wants to goto happy hour?) that send push notifications to any device or service that your friends are already using - iphone, blackberry, text, facebook, email, etc. There will also be social networking aspects thrown in to keep users engaged.

We recently placed 2nd at the Drexel University business plan competition (www.lebow.drexel.edu/Centers/Baiada/Entrepreneur/Conference.php) – receiving funding, office space, and other services. Our company has been profiled in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Business Journal. You will be working with 3 other passionate entrepreneurs who have combined previously raised ~ $1.5 million dollars in funding and sold 2 companies.

We are looking to bring this person on full-time immediately, but will settle for part-time for the right person. Must be local to Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

- Website and graphic design including the use of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX. Experience with Flash a plus.
- Complete UI / Skin design for a web 2.0 application, downloadable application, and mobile application.

Must have experience designing web 2.0 / consumer websites.
