Senior Web Developer (TU-12884)
This is an exceptional opportunity to support web and multimedia productions for the Temple University Community. Duties include web development, search engine Web optimization, online marketing, and audio & video production for the web. In this role, you will also maintain components of the portfolio’s web sites and develop dynamic web sites using open source systems.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in web development, interactive media or graphic design
• At least 3 years of hands-on web development experience
• Good sense of graphic design and high quality user experience as it relates to web design.
• Knowledge of server-side scripting and relational databases, as well as XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Proficiency in web programming, database design and development (such Java, MySQL, SQL Server, AJAX, PHP etc.)
• Familiarity and desire to keep up with emerging hardware, software, applications, resources and techniques
• Experience in the following areas: customization and web development using open source systems. (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla etc.)
• Expert-level proficiency in web and graphics publishing tools (Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Deamweaver and Flash);
• Understanding of ADA compliance.
• Familiarity with web 2.0 strategy (YouTube, Wikis, Google Maps, Blogs, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and LinkedIn) a plus.
Interactive Web Developer (TU-13021)
In this role, you will interact with content authors, editors, project managers, and technology staff in designing, developing and maintaining high quality electronic products such as web sites, e-mail newsletters, e-mail marketing messages, and other digital media. Responsible for enhancing and maintaining Temple.edu web site and all related links and contribute to the structure and develop Temple.edu pages as necessary. You will also perform periodic maintenance as requested on any Temple-owned web site including editing content, formatting and posting text and updating graphics and flash presentations, work directly with department heads and clients to develop or redesign professional looking web sites aligning with Temple University’s brand, as well as develop and maintain comprehensive tracking reports to monitor web activities.
• Bachelor’s in web development, interactive media or graphic design from an accredited four-year college or university
• 1 year related experience including developing and managing internet services or electronic contents. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XHTML, SQL, Flash, Actionscript, Dreamweaver, Contribute, Photoshop, Illustrator and content management systems
• Experience in web design, email marketing messages and e-newsletter design
• Knowledge of UNIX and dynamic web application framework preferably in a Linux environment
• An online portfolio exhibiting strong visual abilities—typography, layout and color
• Familiarity with streaming media, video/audio and podcast production and editing, flash programming experience, and experience with content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress preferred
