Ranter is seeking a Graphic Designer (User Interface) to join the team. Ranter will eventually have multiple interfaces – ranter.com, Facebook app, numerous smartphone apps, text and email integration. This person will be an integral part of shaping the look and feel of all of these. Besides creating the graphics, html, CSS – we would look to this person to eventually “own” the complete user experience.

With Ranter you will be able to create on-the-fly chat rooms around a specific topic (i.e. Who wants to goto happy hour?) that send push notifications to any device or service that your friends are already using – iphone, blackberry, text, facebook, email, etc. There will also be social networking aspects thrown in to keep users engaged.

We recently placed 2nd at the Drexel University business plan competition (www.lebow.drexel.edu/Centers/Baiada/Entrepreneur/Conference.php) – receiving funding, office space, and other services. Our company has been profiled in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Business Journal. You will be working with 3 other passionate entrepreneurs who have combined previously raised ~ $1.5 million dollars in funding and sold 2 companies.

We are looking to bring this person on full-time immediately, but will settle for part-time for the right person. Must be local to Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

- Website and graphic design including the use of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX. Experience with Flash a plus.
- Complete UI / Skin design for a web 2.0 application, downloadable application, and mobile application.

Must have experience designing web 2.0 / consumer websites.

Mobile App Development Demystified

WXPN – Graphic Artist / Web Content Developer

Duties

The Web Content Developer will develop and implement robust web content comprised of dynamic and static web pages, as well as database driven pages using the Joomla content management system. Use JavaScript, CGI or other technical applications and programming skills to create search engine optimized interactive web pages. Create and enhance web graphics for online and print use. Maintain good technical documentation for all work completed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or completion of a technical training program; and 2-3 years of related professional experience in content development or comparable work related experience required. Experience with music related content a plus.

Experience using Joomla and modifying Joomla templates is needed. Proficiency required in hand-coding web markup languages (CSS, HTML and DHTML). Knowledge of social media sites and how to interface within their code restrictive environments as well as their interactive usage needed.

Advanced level of proficiency using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Fireworks is crucial as well as basic PDF manipulation. Good writing and editorial skills for web articles required. Must have excellent time management skill, be highly organized, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Transact-SQL languages and Access/Oracle databases (MySQL, MSSQL, and Oracle) helpful.
